Section structure, timing, and score interpretation
Learn step-by-step with practice exercises built right in.
Chem/Phys (59 questions, 95 min), CARS (53 questions, 90 min), Bio/Biochem (59, 95), Psych/Soc (59, 95) โ in that order, with optional breaks between. Science sections are roughly 90% passage-based (10 passages plus 15-16 discrete questions); CARS is entirely passage-based.
Each section converts to a 118-132 scale; totals run 472-528 with 500 as the median. There is NO penalty for wrong answers โ never leave a blank. Percentiles matter more than raw numbers: 510 is roughly the 80th percentile, 515+ roughly the 90th.
Equal section weighting means a CARS point equals a Bio point โ train your weakest section hardest. Because scaling absorbs difficulty differences, a brutal section usually curves more generously; don't let one hard passage wreck the next one.
